The charm of Umekoji Park is the variety of cherry blossoms. The park is decorated with about 30 varieties of cherry trees, including not only the standard cherry trees such as Someiyoshino and Shidare-zakura, but also Sato-zakura, Yae-zakura, and others. This makes it possible to enjoy the cherry blossoms over a relatively long period of time.

Especially worth seeing are the weeping cherry trees on the east side of the lawn. When in full bloom, the branches are filled with blossoms that look like a pink waterfall. The satozakura cherry trees surrounding the lawn create a tunnel of cherry blossoms, adding to the cherry blossom viewing mood.
