Somei-Yoshino (Somei-Yoshino) is one of Japan’s most popular cherry tree varieties. The flowers are pale pink and single-petaled. It has five petals and numerous stamens. Somei-Yoshino was discovered in Somei-mura in Edo (present-day Toshima-ku, Tokyo) at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868).

Characteristics of Somei-yoshino
